Alexander and Yocheved Mitchell, General Chairs

Yocheved Mitchell is the epitome of an Eishet Chayil. Always with a warm smile on her face and a relaxed manner, Park East Synagogue and Day School are her second home. She welcomes strangers and friends and serves as an ambassador of good will, promoting our community through her enthusiasm,thoughtfulness and kindness.Yocheved serves on innumerable Synagogue and Day School committees promoting Jewish education, parenting and fundraising. She is an active member of the Parents Association and Synagogue Sisterhood.Yocheved is a role model for devotion to her family, commitment to her community and acts of kindness and compassion to all. She and her husband Alex are known for their numerous philanthropic endeavors.

Philip and Alla Weisberg, General Chairs

Philip Weisberg grew up in Suffern NY, and is the son of Marion and Meyer Weisberg. He studied Electrical Engineering at The Cooper Union and received his MBA from NYU’s Stern School. He was a Managing Director in Global Markets at JP Morgan before becoming CEO of FXall, a Foreign Exchange Marketplace. Philip and his wife Alla have two children, Michael Mendel (13) and Hannah Sarah (3). Phil serves on the Day School Board of Education and is a devoted member of Park East Synagogue. He demonstrates his deep loyalty to his community through this work, approaching every project with energy and focus.  His kindness and generosity are well known and his strong sense of integrity is especially reflected in his dedication to the Day School. Both Phil and Alla are deeply appreciative of the generosity that afforded them a day school education, and they are proud to support the excellent education offered at Rabbi Arthur Schneier Park East Day School. Philip is honored to be the recipient of Chatan Torah.

Andrew Z. Scharf, Journal Chair

Andrew Z. Scharf has been a member of the Park East Synagogue family for 29 years and has, with his parents Michael and Fiona, and brother William, celebrated nearly every major milestone of his life at the Synagogue.

Since 2009, Andrew has served as a Director of Scharf Brothers LLC. Scharf Brothers is a privately-held company focused on investing in publicly traded companies and real estate.

Prior to joining Scharf Brothers, Andrew worked at Peter J. Solomon Company, a leading boutique investment bank headquartered in New York City, where he advised clients in financial restructurings and mergers and acquisitions.

Additionally, Andrew is a member of the International Advisory Board of Chabad on Campus.

In his free time, Andrew enjoys running, reading, cooking, solving crossword puzzles and cheering for his beloved Philadelphia Eagles.

Andrew graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.
